George has a reputation as being a premier golfing destination and is in close proximity to championship golf courses including Fancourt, Kingswood, Oubaai and George Country Club. It is also very close to beautiful and popular beaches, such as Victoria bay and Herolds Bay, if you are in the mood for a bit more adventure there are majestic mountains to hike in or conquer with your mountain bike, and don’t forget all the scenic lakes. It’s not hard to see why it is such a popular leisure destination.
Widely regarded as the hub of the Southern Cape Region, it is only 40-60 minutes’ drive from Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. As a result, it is an ideal base from which to explore the Southern Cape and Little Karoo.
